Ready for a crispy, hot boneless buffalo wing swap? You BETTER be. These spicy nuggets will blow your mind! And for an all-out b-wing experience, serve ’em with celery sticks and some low-cal bleu cheese or ranch dressing (mmmm!)…

- 8 oz. raw boneless skinless lean chicken breast, cut into 10 nugget-shaped pieces
- 1/4 cup Fiber One bran cereal (original), ground to a breadcrumb-like consistency in a blender or food processor
- 1 oz. (about 14 crisps) Pringles Light Fat Free Potato Crisps, Barbecue (or another fat-free BBQ-flavored potato chip)
- 3 tbsp. Frank’s RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce
- dash onion powder
- dash garlic powder
- dash cayenne pepper
- dash black pepper
- dash salt
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Crush potato crisps completely and, in a small dish, mix with cereal crumbs. Add a dash of each of the seasonings and mix well. Place chicken pieces in a separate dish, and cover and toss with Frank’s RedHot.

Spray a baking pan with nonstick spray. Give each chicken piece a shake (so it’s not dripping with RedHot), and then coat it evenly with the crumb mixture. Lay the battered nuggets on the baking pan.

Place in the oven, and bake for 10 minutes. Then flip the wings over, and return them to the oven for 10 more minutes, or until outsides are crispy and chicken is cooked throughout.

So I began prep the way I usually do, hunched over the computer screen looking over the recipe.
Overall, although this recipe was found in a group called “Recipe’s for those who can’t cook…” it’s actually fairly difficult to prepare. If you’re a normal cook, sure, it would be no problem. But I wouldn’t put it in the category of something “those who can’t cook” would find easy. Even the recipe itself would be confusing – just exactly what is a dash? How much is that? More than a pinch? Two pinches?[singlepic id=648 w=320 h=240 float=center]Well, actually, a dash is two pinches. But it’s also defined as 1/8 a teaspoon. That, you can measure. Why recipe’s don’t just say that I don’t know (maybe it’s somehow a different measure?), but it’s not something for somebody who doesn’t cook.
In any case, the preparation is longer and more difficult than someone who doesn’t cook might want to pay attention to doing. If it takes longer than 5 minutes to prepare, most of us non-cooks don’t want to do it. And this definitely takes longer than 5 minutes.

However, when all is done – this is really yummy. I mean, really yummy.[singlepic id=656 w=320 h=240 float=center]Particularly when you consider a normal recipe for chicken wings would be over 1,000 calories, and this doubled recipe is in fact only 350… You can’t beat that.
It’s not something I would make for everyday, but if I was trying to make some finger-food for a party and I was worried about my guest’s calories.. This would be the thing.
The best part of this was discovering Frank’s RedHot Cayenne Pepper. Anything that adds flavor but no calories is one awesome product. Place, spicy is shown to increase your metabolism. Win Win.
Finally, an editorial note. While making this recipe I also filmed the preparation and cooking. It was an awesome video. Funny, witty, and an excellent example of just how making this recipe might turn out. Unfortunately, you’ll not see it here.

Well, at least it was a good test run. But, in the future, look for videos to accompany my recipe reviews. I’m a non-cook, with limited utensils, so you’ll see how it goes. I’m no chef, and don’t worry – you’ll find out just how bad I am.
